In response to customer feedback on QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003, Quicken
has released a service pack with a number of enhancements and fixes.
This includes enhancements and fixes relating to searching for an item,
using the Preset Category function, Transferring items from QuickBooks,
Layby reports, Customer Account balances and the Point of Sale splash
screen.
QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003 Service Pack 1
This Service Pack is a free update to QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003 customers.
Enhancements are detailed below.
Who needs to install this service pack
If you do not have QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003 version 6.0.8 you need
to install this service pack.
It updates the following functions:
List Search
Searching for items in the product list.
Preset Category
Using a key programmed with the function Preset Category.
Transfers
Transferring items to more than one category in Point of Sale after they
have been sold will allow you to view the category selection screen in
Point of Sale Administrator.
Layby Reports
A message is written on every layby report stating laybys created in
previous versions will not be displayed.
Customer Account balances
Adds refund cheques to the customers balance.
No Splash Screen
When you open Point of Sale Terminal the splash screen will display the
version number.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003 version 6.0.8 you need to install this service pack.

- All Point of Sale Terminals (on all machines) and Point of Sale Administrator should be closed before applying the update.
- QuickBooks Point of Sale 2003 Service Pack 1 is supplied as a self-extracting compressed file with the name of QBPOS2003SP1.exe.
- Double-click the QBPOS2003SP1.exe file to run the program and follow the prompts.
- Click Next on the first screen.
- Click to select the program loaded on this PC then click Next.
- The installer will now prompt for the location of your Point of Sale program, if the location is incorrect click the Browse button to find the correct directory then click Next.
- Repeat this for Point of Sale Terminal if this program is loaded on the same PC, if not repeat this process on the Point of Sale terminal.
- The installer will now install the service pack and display a message to tell you it has installed successfully.
