QuickPOS 2001 Service Pack 2

This file details the changes to QuickPOS 2001 (Version 4.1) contained in QuickPOS 2001 (Version 4.1) Service Pack 2. Read the QuickPOS 2001 Service Pack 2 Readme.TXT file for instruction on installing this service pack.

ENHANCEMENTS and FIXES

  1. Random Price Barcodes scanning.
    Random Price Barcodes didn't support UPC-A format with a prefix of '02'. This has been added.

  2. Citizen IDP3550 Printer not printing correctly.
    The Citizen IDP3550 printer would experience overtyping of some QuickPOS transaction lines. This has been fixed.

  3. TouchKeyboard 'New' button caption.
    Changing the caption of a Touch keyboard button that contains the word 'new', the button doesn't function properly when pressed. This has been fixed.

  4. Posiflex-3200 keyboard.
    The last bottom three keys of the keyboard has incorrect settings. This has been fixed.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If QuickPOS or QuickPOS Administrator is currently running on the computer, exit from the programs.


  2. QuickPOS 2001 (Version 4.1) Service Pack 2 is supplied as a self-extracting compressed file with the name of QuickPOS41SP2.EXE. Create a new folder called QuickPOSV41SP2 and place the QuickPOS41SP2.EXE file in the new folder.


  3. Double-click the QuickPOS41SP2.EXE file to extract the service pack files. Eight (8) files will be extracted.


  4. After the files are extracted and you can see these files in the QuickPOSV41SP2 folder, skip to Step 15.
    If you cannot see the files specified in step 3, you may need to change the view options for the folder that contains the extracted files. If you are using Windows 95 with Internet Explorer version 4 or prior, go to Step 5. If you are using Windows 95 or Windows 98 with Internet Explorer version 5 or later or you are using Windows NT, go to Step 10.


  5. In the folder, click the menu item "View", then click "Options". This will show a screen with a frame with a title Hidden files.


  6. Ensure the "Show all files" option is selected.


  7. Ensure the "Hide MSDOS file extensions for file types that are registered" checkbox is NOT checked.


  8. Click OK.


  9. Go to Step 15.


  10. In the folder, click the menu item "View", then click "Folder Options". This will show a screen with three tabs.


  11. Click on the View tab and scroll the "Advanced Settings" list until you can see the "Hidden files" option.


  12. Ensure that the option "Show all files" is selected.


  13. Scroll further down the list until you see the "Hide file extensions for known file types" checkbox. Ensure that this checkbox is NOT checked.


  14. Click OK.


  15. Copy the QuickPOS.EXE, POSFunctions.DLL, POSPeripherals.DLL, POSKeyboardOptions.DLL and POSKeyboardOptionsB.DLL files to the folder where QuickPOS is installed, replacing the old files of the same name.


  16. Copy the POSAdminOptions.DLL file to the folder where QuickPOS Administrator is installed, replacing the old files of the same name.


  17. Start QuickPOS Administrator. Then start QuickPOS.


  18. The QuickPOS 2001 Service Pack 2.TXT file details the changes contained in this service pack. It may be viewed and printed by double-clicking the file.
