QuickBooks 2008/09 Patches
We are now able to release the QuickBooks 2008/09 SP3 (R8) Patch Updates to Accredited Consultants, Professional Partners and to all QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Customers. This is patch for all QuickBooks 2008/09 customers who have not yet upgraded to the SP3 patch release of QuickBooks. If you have installed QuickBooks 08/09 but are not on the current SP3 release then you may install this patch over the top of your existing software. Please note, you must read the attached instructions to complete the upgrade to ensure that you are installing the correct patch.
QuickBooks 2008/09 QBi series Service Pack 3 (R8) Patch Updates
The Patch Updates will install over existing QuickBooks Initial Release (R1), Service Pack 1 (R3) and Service Pack 2 (R7) installations to update them to the Service Pack 3 (R8) release.
Separate Patch Updates have had to be prepared for SP1 (R3) and SP2 (R7) installations, so it is important to check which release is installed before loading the patches (although installation will cease if a customer attempts to load an incorrect patch). So if you are on SP1 (R3) release us the patch that is for R3. If you are on SP2 (R7) release the patch you use is R7
To check which release you are on, in your data file hit CTRL 1 which brings up the product information screen. The top line will tell you which Release you are on. (ie SP2 = R7)

Technical Note
Please note the following Knowledge Browser Articles that have been prepared about the Patch Updates: (Note for New Zealand, Australia’s SP2 is the same as our SP3, where you see SP2 it means SP3 for NZ)

QuickBooks 2007/08 Service Pack 1
QuickBooks 2007/08 Service Pack 1 is an update for QuickBooks 2007/08. It includes enhancements that are important for all QuickBooks users.
Service Pack 1 description
QuickBooks 2007/08 Service Pack 1 incorporates several enhancements to the New Zealand version, including GST updates, Microsoft 2007 compatibility updates for New Zealand versions of QuickBooks.
Important note:
Due to the need to make QuickBooks 2007/08 compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2007, we have been forced to make the following change. Installing QuickBooks service pack 1 removes the ability to preview any emails before they are sent, effectively making the emailing process "silent". This occurs even if your Online preferences are set to display each email before it is sent. All emails will be sent using the default email address for the customer, supplier or employee in their respective records using the default email text for the form type from the Send Forms preferences.
If this change impacts on your use of QuickBooks, please write to us at wishlist@quicken.co.nz and explain the impact in detail. Depending on the feedback we receive, we will investigate whether we can enhance QuickBooks to meet your needs while still retaining compatibility with Microsoft Office 2007.
