A QuickBooks short course can give you everything you need to be comfortable with the day to day running of your business and your GST returns for the new year. Additional modules can also give you the tools to run QuickBooks and your business efficiently. Enrol in one or a combination of our training modules.

Module One - Business Basics (9am to 1pm) - $230 inc GST

In this module you will learn:

  • QuickBooks Navigator - finding your way around
  • Preferences - Database setup
  • Lists setup - Creating customers, suppliers and accounts
  • Accounts receivable and payable - Entering invoices and bills.

Module Two - QuickBooks and GST (9am to 1pm) - $230 inc GST

In this module you will learn:

  • Banking - Cheques, transfers, reconciliation and locating discrepancies
  • GST - Codes, reports. payments, refunds and reconciliation
  • Form customisation - Creating invoice and statement templates
  • Time savers - Memorised transactions and reports
  • Online banking - importing bank statements and exporting bill payments
  • Integrations - Using QuickBooks with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Module Three - Advanced Features (9am to 3pm) - $390 inc GST

In this module you will learn:

  • Job costing - creating esimates, progress invoicing and assigning billable time and costs
  • Stock - Creating stock items, building assemblies and creating units of measure
  • Advanced Accounts - Accounts receivable and payable options
  • Creating and understanding budgets and forecasts
  • QuickBooks reporting
  • Understanding a multi-user setup
  • Working with your Accountant

Developed specifically for accountants, the QuickBooks Certificate for Accountants course outlines the essential elements when working with clients using QuickBooks. Learn how to set up data files that are consistent with the general ledger program your accounting practice uses, as well as tips to ensure consistent reporting standards from clients.

In addition to focusing on GST reporting and setup and end of year financial reporting, this course will cover the following topics:

Module One (1pm to 5pm)

  • An overview of the QuickBooks range.
  • Setting up a new company file for businesses or those wishing to start a new data file.
  • An overview of QuickBooks Preferences
  • Setting up, importing, modifying and deleting the chart of accounts
  • Navigating QuickBooks
  • Setting up GST and tax codes, including checking the accuracy and how these are used in QuickBooks.
  • Checking the accuracy of data entry for account reconciliation.
  • An overview of QuickBooks reporting, including modifying reports to suit your business needs.

Module Two (9am to 1pm)

  • Creating journal entries in QuickBooks
  • Completing a company file audit which collates useful high-level information relating to your company file, as well as performs an integrity check of your data.
  • Using closing dates
  • Integration of QuickBooks with general ledger programs, including importing QuickBooks data into MYOB AO.
  • Identifying common errors and troubleshooting when working on client files.
  • End of financial year processing, involving reports and the QuickBooks Accountant Edition, as well as QuickBooks housekeeping and interim maintenance of data files

  • Basic Keyboard and mouse navigation skills
  • Confidence with accounting principles and activities
